France’s Economic and Fiscal Situation : Up Against a Wall
On June 10, 2026, ADN Transition hosted a conference at the Hôtel de Guénégaud, Club de la Chasse et de la Nature, featuring a presentation by Agnès Verdier-Molinié, director of the iFRAP Foundation and author of *Face au mur*.
The evening was moderated by Luc Marot, President of ADN Transition, and Jean-Baptiste Devalland, Associate Director of ADN Transition.
A Direct Analysis of the French Economic Situation
Agnès Verdier-Molinié offered a candid assessment of France’s fiscal trajectory and its concrete implications for businesses: competitiveness, labor costs, the burden of regulations, and administrative streamlining. Drawing on the work of the iFRAP Foundation and the 50 measures proposed in *Face au mur*, she outlined practical courses of action.
Luc Marot and Jean-Baptiste Devalland each asked the speaker a question, allowing for a deeper exploration of two complementary perspectives. A participant in the audience also spoke, usefully extending the group discussion before the evening transitioned to the cocktail reception.
Time for a cocktail
Once we left the room, conversations resumed naturally, in small groups, in the lounges of the Club de la Chasse et de la Nature. It’s a unique place, with trophies on the walls, 17th and 18th century animal paintings, display cases filled with antique weapons, and dark wood paneling. It’s a far cry from the usual meeting rooms, and that’s precisely what creates an atmosphere conducive to exchanges that are a little less formal and a little more candid.
The conversations quickly branched out. First, they centered on the conference topics, debt, reforms, and what these mean in practical terms for businesses, then shifted to subjects closer to everyone’s daily lives: ongoing projects, decisions to be made, and shifting markets. Some participants already knew each other, while others were meeting for the first time. In both cases, the setting encouraged people to linger, grab another drink, and pick up where they’d left off.
Each participant left with a signed copy of *Face au mur*.
A big thank you to Agnès Verdier-Molinié for the quality and candor of her presentation, and to all the participants for making this evening a real success.
